The Need
Elsie Allen High School (EAHS) has 1,100 students, 61% of whom are low-income and 93% are students of color. Many of our students are the first in their families to graduate high school and the majority will be the first from their families to attend and graduate from college. EAHS is located in southwest Santa Rosa which is historically underserved, and many of our students come from families that:
- have a household income of less than $50,000/yr
- do not have access to quality healthcare
- do not have resources to support their children’s post-secondary educational journey.
Our Focus
Since 2013 and with the support of the community, the Foundation is able to focus our efforts on the following:
- Scholarships — graduating seniors and alumni are eligible to apply for scholarships to support their post-secondary education.
- Student Services — We fund college campus tours, field trips, ACT/SAT practice test fees, college/vocational school application fees and more!
- College and Career Enrichment — We connect students to hands-on mentorship and internship experiences, financial literacy workshops, career training programs and much more!
Our Impact
Since 2013:
- More than 600 scholarships awarded
- Nearly $900,000 invested in our youth
- Nearly $2 million raised to establish a scholarship endowment fund
- Over $3 million raised for EAHS!
