President’s September Message | Welcome Back Lobo Nation!

Welcome to the 2020-21 school year at Elsie Allen High School (EAHS)! It is my sincere hope that this newsletter finds each of you safe and well as we work through a global pandemic, and wildfires ravishing our community and state. The smoke is clearing, bits of the blue sky is showing through, and the Foundation is wrapping up our virtual strategic planning sessions. It is during this process that we reflect upon how far we have come and set our sights on new goals, charting the course for the next three years.
The Foundation stands together in thanking Mike Lopez for his leadership over the past two years as President. There is no question that he has left his footprint on this organization and his legacy will have a lasting impact on the lives of many students.
As I move into my new role as President of the Elsie Allen High School Foundation, it is my mission to continue our work and drive the vision of my mentor, and Foundation founder, Willie Tamayo. His vision was to invite new opportunities to college and career-bound students in Southwest Santa Rosa and to connect our community to the great young minds and talents from EAHS. I look forward to working in support of these values as I help to lead the organization over the next two years.
Finally, I would like to thank you, our generous supporters, for making our first annual Supply Drive a success! We are delighted to announce that with your support we were able to fulfill a vast majority of teachers’ requests as we dive into this new virtual school year. I can’t tell you how much this means to our amazing educators and students.
In a year filled with challenges, we are beyond excited to be able to continue to work with you to inspire our youth to Dream, Plan, and Achieve. We are all in this together and we know we cannot do what we do without our wonderful Lobo Nation. Thank you for your continued investment, and support of our youth!
